Know all men by these presents that we James A. Jarboe and William H. Thomas are held and firmly bound unto the Commonwealth of Kentucky in the Just and full sum of Fifty pounds current money to the payment of which will and duly to be made we bind ourselves, our heirs Executor and administrator jointly and severally bound to these presents sealed with our seals and dated this 24th day July 1826.  The Condition of the above obligation is such that whereas there is a marriage shortly intended between the above bound James A. Jarboe and Miss Ann P. Thomas for which a license has ___ Now if there be no lawful cause to obstruct the said Marriage then this obligation to be void else to remain in full force and certain in law.

Mr. John Hughes Clerk of Washington County pleased to grant John T. Jarboe License to marry my Daughter Ann P. Thomas and in so doing you will oblige.
