Notes: I found other records indicating that the estate of Charles Mann was 230 acres when he died. So this deed for 105 acres can't be the only one. But it's the only one I came across. The indexes for these old deeds are hand written and only grouped by first letter of the alphabet. It's easy to miss a name when scanning down the page. So, I can't say whether this was the first piece of land he bought in Moccasin Gap or not. But we do know that Mary Margaret Mann was born in Campbell County in 1829 so he moved to Washington County sometime between that and the date of this deed in 1839.
