Transfer of deed for Nelson T. Branch farm to H. W. Bishop

Whereas by a decree of the district Court of the United States for the Western District of Virginia Nelson T. Branch was adjudged a Bankrupt.

And Whereas in the Schedule of Property surrendered by the Bankrupt there was among other things mentioned a tract of Land containing sixty six acres lying on Fall Branch on the South side of New River in the County of Pulaski in the State of Virginia, which said tract of Land was claimed by the Bankrupt as a homestead; And whereas John B. Baskerville was duly chosen the assignee of the Estate of the said Bankrupt; And whereas in certain proceedings instituted in said district Court of the United States by the creditors of the said Bankrupt; a decree was rendered directing the said assignee to sell upon the terms and in the manner prescribed by that decree the said tract of sixty six acres of Land.  And whereas the said John B Baskerville assignee as aforesaid advertised in the manner and for the length of time specified in the said last mentioned decree, the said tract of sixty-six acres proceeded to sell the same at public auction and Henry W. Bishop being the Highest bidder therefore became the purchaser thereof, at the price of one thousand and ten dollars.  And complied with the terms of sale as advertised; and the said assignee having reported the said sale to the said District Court the same so as confirmed; and the purchase money having now been fully paid the said Henry W. Bishop is entitled to a conveyance of the said tract of sixty six acres:

Now therefore this deed made the 28th day of December in the year 1876 between the said John B. Baskerville assignee as aforesaid of the one part and the said Henry W. Bishop of the other part.

Witnesseth; That for and in consideration of the premises the said John B. Baskerville, assignee as aforesaid doth grant unto the said Henry W. Bishop and to his heirs and assignees forever with special warranty the said tracts of sixty six acres of land together with the appurtenances.

The foregoing deed from John B. Baskerville assignee of N. T. Branch, a Bankrupt to Henry W. Bishop dated Decr 28th 1876.  Was this day presented in said office, Acknowledged by said John B. Baskerville to be his oath and deed and therefore admitted to record:
